Our principal, Aarding Thermal Acoustics, with headquarters in Nunspeet and sales offices in Singapore and the USA, was established in 1960 and has grown into a strong and versatile international company with a high level of continuity. Aarding is specialized in engineering, contracting and supplying products for the power and petro-chemical market. Their versatility arises from an extensive knowledge of a wide variety of acoustic and thermal products. The products supplied by Aarding are Gas Turbine Exhaust Systems, Acoustical Components, Hush Houses and Aero Engine Test Cells. Their products always meet the most stringent quality requirements.
Whether a problem can be solved using the standard line or requires a tailor-made product, Aarding takes control from start to finish – from design to installation - and all stages in between. Aarding is also a specialist in complex turn-key projects.

Due to steady growth, Aarding is now seeking to expand their workforce with  an experienced Technical Buyer, whose main task will be to professionally purchase technical materials and components for thermal and acoustic systems in the international market.

The position
In this role you will perform international contract negotiations and will manage new and existing supplier relations. Your main responsibilities in short:

• Negotiating and concluding (international) contracts for technical materials and components
• Outsourcing of work (subassemblies) where and when appropriate (make-or-buy decision)
• Actively managing the current supplier base and proactively sourcing for new alternate suppliers
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of purchase processes
  International travel for a maximum of 30% of your time will be required in the role.

Your profile

• Completed technical degree at bachelor level (preferably mechanical engineering)
• NEVI 1 / 2 or an equivalent accreditation is considered a plus
• Multiple years of relevant practical experience in international purchasing of technical products
• Commercial acumen and initiative (you are a real entrepreneur)
• Self starter with extremely well developed communication skills
• Hands-on mentality
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Fluency in Dutch and English
