Growth by acquisition of strong regional fruit juices and soft drinks manufacturers is an important element of the Holding's "buy and build” strategy. Job profile
The Senior Central Purchase Manager Packaging will report to the Group Director Purchase. Officially he/she is located at the head offices in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, but will travel app. 40 to 50% of his/her working time, mainly across Europe. Expected purchase volume for a Senior Central Purchase Manager is Euro 200 Million or more.  The purpose of the job is to purchase all items within a number of product groups in packaging materials. Develops and implements purchasing strategy for respective product groups. Purchases at best possible prices and conditions for total Refresco group. Provides all BU with timely and up to date market info. You will follow closely supply and demand within relevant markets and you will identify opportunities/ developments in the market which might have an impact on the purchasing of goods/services. You will indicate risks which could influence the availability. You will perform a correct vendor and supplier selection. You will discuss with the selected suppliers the Purchasing Agreements. Also you will ensure formulation and finalization of contracts and you will monitor effectiveness of contracts and supplier performance. As part of your internal network, you will know all internal needs regarding purchase. You will also ensure regular information delivery about suppliers, market developments, usage of purchase agreements towards Group Director Purchasing, BU Purchase managers and other stakeholders. One other responsibility is to identify actively opportunities for value engineering from a purchase perspective and makes sure that the discipline who is in the lead decides on having a VE-project or not. You will define a year plan and a budget for dedicated product groups controls and reports on the realised targets.

Your profile:

• Higher Education or University level in Business Economics, Agricultural studies, Technical studies
• Minimum of 8 years experience in a (senior) procurement position in an international entrepreneurial environment.
• He/she preferably should have a proven track record of success in buying Packaging
• Pragmatic, disciplined and organized, decisive and self-motivated.
• He/she must have the commercial acumen to recognize and act upon opportunities.
• He/she is a good negotiator and sees things through to a successful conclusion
• Proven track record in total cost of ownership initiatives
• The candidate must posses a technical adaptability in order to oversee industrial processes quickly
• Strong communication skills are essential, combined with the ability to persuade and influence people from higher management level to user level
• Street fighter’s mentality, very competitive
• Entrepreneurial mentality
• Ability to prioritise and to manage time effectively, analytical skills
• International mindset

Other characteristics

• The candidate could be (originally) coming from European countries like, Spain, Netherlands, France, UK or Eastern Europe.
• The candidate could also have been located outside his/her own home country, for a certain period of time
